Astro Buddies is a small, founder-run pet brand building products that solve real, everyday problems for dog owners. We design things we actually want to use ourselves — starting with the one product nobody on the market had gotten right: a dual-dog leash that doesn’t tangle.

Meet Astro & Rocket

Astro Buddies is named after our two King Charles Cavaliers, Astro and Rocket. They’re the reason this brand exists. Like most people with two dogs, we spent years walking them with whatever dual leash we could find — and every single one failed at the same basic problem within thirty seconds of leaving the house. Knots. Tangles. Standing on a sidewalk trying to unbraid two cords while two dogs stare up at you like you’ve broken something.

We tried every leash on the market. We watched every one of them fail. So we built our own.

Our mission

Create smart pet products that solve real, everyday problems — built by people who actually use them, tested by dogs who actually need them.

That mission shows up in three commitments we make on every product we ship:

  • Solve a real problem. If a product doesn’t fix something that frustrates dog owners daily, we don’t make it.
  • Built around how dogs actually behave. Not how we wish they’d behave. Dogs cross paths. They switch sides. They circle. Our designs assume that.
  • Built to last. Pet products are notorious for being flimsy and disposable. We’d rather make one thing that lasts five years than five things that last one.

The Astro 360

Our first product, the Astro 360 Dual Retractable Dog Leash, is the leash we wish had existed when we got Rocket. It’s built around a true 360-degree swivel core, with two independent retractable cords feeding from a single ergonomic handle. Your dogs can cross, switch sides, and circle around each other without ever knotting the lines.

It’s the only dual leash we’ve ever used that actually walks two dogs the way two dogs actually walk.

What makes us different

We’re not a giant pet company. We don’t have a marketing department or a thousand SKUs or a venture round to spend down. We’re a small operation built by two-dog owners, for two-dog owners, and the people we hear from most are people whose problems we already had.

That means a few things in practice:

  • Real humans answer the email. When you write to us at astrobuddiesllc@gmail.com, you’re writing to the same people who designed the product.
  • We listen to feedback. The Astro 360 went through several iterations based on what other dog owners told us they needed. The next product will too.
  • We don’t inflate claims. If our research-backed blog posts say two dogs is more work alongside being better for your dog — that’s because it’s true. We’d rather be honest than oversell.

What’s next

We’re building a small line of pet products around the same idea: things that look at the daily friction of having a dog (or two), and remove it. More accessories for the Astro 360. New products for walking, feeding, traveling, and night safety. All designed the same way — for the actual dogs you have, not the ideal ones in a stock photo.
